Hyde Park
Edwardian grandeur dressed in art deco luxury, with Hyde Park's calm green world seeping through every window. Grand but not stuffy. The kind of place where royals have used a private back entrance since 1902.

Why It Matters
One of very few London hotels where dining, spa, and rooms operate at the same exceptional level simultaneously. Dinner by Heston Blumenthal holds two Michelin stars. The spa has 13 treatment rooms and a 17-metre pool. The building opened in 1902 after César Ritz consulted on the conversion and has hosted royals, heads of state, and Hollywood legends ever since. There's even a Royal Entrance in the back facing Hyde Park — technically still reserved for the monarch.
Built in 1889 as apartments and converted to a hotel in 1902, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park sits with its front door on Knightsbridge and its back garden in Hyde Park. The Edwardian building was transformed by designer Joyce Wang in 2019 — art deco chandeliers, hand-gilded mirror artwork, Volakas marble bathrooms throughout — and the result is one of the most coherent luxury hotel redesigns in recent London memory. It's expensive. Very. But the combination of a two-Michelin-starred restaurant by Heston Blumenthal, one of the city's most serious spas, and service calibrated at a level where staff genuinely remember your preferences makes the cost feel earned.
