Al Faisaliah, Riyadh
Contemporary Arabian luxury blended with Asian-inspired touches. The north building is slick and business-ready; the south building leans residential with panoramic city views. The public spaces are genuinely grand. But the property is not a resort — it's an urban landmark connected to a shopping mall, sitting on one of Riyadh's busiest roads.
Book The Globe well in advance — it fills up and has a SAR 350 per-person minimum spend. Smart casual dress code; children under 12 not admitted for dinner.
Why It Matters
The Globe restaurant, perched inside a golden glass sphere at the top of Al Faisaliah Tower, is one of the most dramatic dining rooms in the Middle East. The hotel is also Mandarin Oriental's first Saudi Arabia property, and it was one of the first luxury hotels to define modern Riyadh when it opened in 2000. Saudi royal family members have held weddings here. The property connects directly to Al Faisaliah Mall and a metro station.
Opened in 2000 alongside the Al Faisaliah Tower, this is one of Riyadh's most established luxury addresses — and since January 2024, it carries the Mandarin Oriental flag. The rebrand was no cosmetic exercise: Tihany Design overhauled the guestrooms, lobby, and public spaces with bespoke Saudi-inspired artworks, custom chandeliers, and Asian-inflected details. With 325 rooms and suites, nine dining destinations, gender-segregated wellness facilities, and 6,300 sqm of event space including the 4,000-guest Prince Sultan's Grand Hall, this property plays across the full spectrum from business travel to royal weddings.
