The gastronomic restaurant is only open Wednesday–Sunday (evenings Wed/Thu, lunch+dinner Fri/Sat, lunch only Sunday) — book the restaurant before booking the room.

Why It Matters

One of very few properties in France where you sleep in a two-Michelin-star chef's own house. Just five rooms in the main building and four in the annex — the whole place feels genuinely private. Chef Aribert also holds a Michelin Green Star for environmental responsibility, which makes this a rare combination of gastronomic excellence and real sustainability credentials.

Chef Christophe Aribert took an old chalet in the park of Uriage-les-Bains, gutted it, and turned it into one of France's most personal chef-driven hotel experiences. The property now spans two buildings — the 19th-century Maison Principale with five rooms, and the newer Maison du Chef annex with four Charme rooms — all orbiting a two-Michelin-star restaurant that's the whole reason to make the trip. The eco-commitment here is serious, not decorative: pellet heating, organic cotton linens, a working kitchen garden, waste management systems, and a Michelin Green Star to show for it.

Charme Room (Maison du Chef)

Charme Room (Maison du Chef)

Four Charme rooms in the Maison du Chef annex — a separate building a few steps from the main house, opened a few years after the original. The design concept runs from tree roots to canopy: earthy tones, rounded forms, no sharp angles, natural paints, and a distinctly feng shui sensibility. Each room is different but shares the same calming spirit. The terraced garden functions as a discovery trail, and there's a vinyl turntable corner with free record access. Guests here get complimentary access to the hydrotherapy pools below.

Deluxe Room

Three Deluxe rooms sit in the Maison Principale, each 30m². Same Hästens beds and park-facing terrace as the Supérieure, but with an extra 5m² that actually makes a difference. Double washbasin in the bathroom. Antique furniture sourced from markets mixed with contemporary art pieces.

Privilège Room

The top room in the Maison Principale at 35m². The bathroom is the standout: you can choose between an Italian shower or a bath rendered alkaline by eight precious stones, with a direct view of the garden. The terrace gives you a glimpse of the mandala representing the four seasons on the restaurant's roof.

Supérieure Room

Supérieure Room

The entry-level room in the Maison Principale — but 'entry-level' is relative here. At 25m², it's compact but thoughtfully designed, with a private terrace overlooking the park and the restaurant's roof garden. Hästens king bed, underfloor heating, air conditioning, full blackout windows, and Italian walk-in shower.
