Maierl-Alm & Chalets
Classic Tyrolean alpine lodge meets contemporary mountain chalet. Think old wood walls, purist glass elements, designer chairs by a crackling fireplace. Cosy and social, not stuffy. The restaurant terrace attracts day-trippers as much as hotel guests.
Request a room with a balcony facing the mountain and valley for sunrise views — not all rooms have mountain-facing windows (one room type has only a roof window).
Why It Matters
One of the oldest operating alpine guesthouses in the Kitzbühel ski area (est. 1932), with genuine ski-in/ski-out access directly on the piste. The five private chalets — each with a Finnish sauna and outdoor hot tub — can be rented exclusively for groups of 4–8. The entire wellness area connects underground to both the inn and chalets, so you never need to put your coat on to reach the pool.
Opened in 1932 as one of the first alpine guesthouses on this mountain, the Maierl-Alm sits at 1,225 metres bang in the middle of the Kitzbühel ski area, halfway up from Kirchberg. The main inn has rooms with Tyrolean character and real ski-in/ski-out access; the five standalone chalets go further, each spreading across three floors with four en-suite bedrooms, a fireplace, a full kitchen, and a private outdoor whirlpool. It works year-round — summer hiking and biking, winter on the KitzSki slopes — and the panoramic sun terrace has become something of a local institution.
