Maidla Nature Resort
Minimalist luxury meets raw nature. No distractions, no crowds — just three small villas, big glass windows, and the kind of silence that takes some getting used to. Eco-conscious down to the cleaning products and zero-waste kitchen.
KASEKE and KÄBI are the better cold-weather picks — both have large indoor fireplaces and dramatic glass walls. POKU's highlight is the outdoor sauna and bathtub, which shine most in warmer months.
Why It Matters
Each villa is by a different award-winning Estonian architect, and KASEKE won the public vote at Dezeen Awards 2021 and was nominated for the EU Mies van der Rohe Prize. The on-site SOO restaurant earned a Michelin Green Star in 2025. The whole property occupies roughly 25 hectares of wetlands and manor grounds that have been deliberately left wild.
Three architect-designed nature villas on stilts above Estonian wetlands, set on the grounds of a 15th-century manor complex 45 minutes from Tallinn. Each villa was created by a different Estonian architect, and each one is genuinely distinct — not just variations on a theme. On-site SOO restaurant holds a Michelin Green Star (2025) and is one of the most-talked-about dining experiences in the country.
