Münchner Kindl
Maximalist Bavarian chic. The design pulls from three distinct Munich references — King Ludwig II's baroque eccentricity, the vivid expressionism of the Blaue Reiter art movement, and the eclectic energy of 1970s Munich schickeria. The result is jewel-toned rooms with bespoke furnishings, walk-in showers, fireplaces, and a members' club atmosphere in the lounges.

Why It Matters
Sister property to Heidelberg Suites, this is one of Munich's most design-forward new openings. Sixteen rooms across a historic townhouse, SLH membership, rooftop sauna, a Cocktail Club open to the public, and a hands-on guest experience host who arranges everything from river surfing to dirndl workshops. No reception desk — a cocktail greets you instead.
Named after Munich's centuries-old coat of arms, this adults-only boutique hotel in the city center wears its Bavarian identity without apology. The interiors are maximalist and deliberately theatrical: ceiling murals referencing Munich's street-art scene, jewel-toned palettes, Jackson Pollock-referencing ceilings, and avant-garde bird lamps. Founded by Christine Hütter Bonan and her brother Peter under the House of Hütter group, the 16-room property opened in April 2025 in an 18th-century townhouse just a short walk from Marienplatz.
