Loire Valley Lodges
Contemporary art meets deep forest. Each of the 18 lodges is a fully unique suite designed by a different artist — graffiti artists, sculptors, photographers, singers. The vibe is serene but surprising: monumental sculptures lurk among the oaks, and forest-foraging drives the kitchen. Adults only, deliberate digital detox.

Why It Matters
One of very few truly art-curated treehouse hotels in Europe. Holds a 1 Key Michelin recognition (2024 & 2025), and its restaurant Ardent carries a Michelin selection (2026). Each lodge is a one-of-a-kind artwork — no two are alike. The Condé Nast Traveler US Hot List named it in 2021.
Eighteen artist-designed treehouse suites, each perched four metres above the floor of a 750-acre private forest in the Loire Valley. Founded by former Parisian art dealer Anne-Caroline Frey and open since July 2020, Loire Valley Lodges runs entirely on a nature-first, art-forward philosophy. No WiFi. No TV. Just a private jacuzzi on your terrace, original contemporary art on the walls, and a basket of local produce hoisted up to your door each morning.

How you'll actually spend your days.
An arboretum around the farmhouse featuring all 21 protective trees of the Celtic Druid calendar. Each species is labelled with its characteristics. Guests can purchase a sapling of their birth tree from the concept store greenhouse to take home and plant.
Bikes provided free of charge to explore the forest tracks, reach the main farmhouse from the lodges, or ride the 5 km to the village of Esvres with its church and local producers. Rain boots and capes also available to borrow.
The hotel can organise guided visits to the Loire Valley châteaux. Must-sees within easy reach: Chenonceau, Azay-le-Rideau, Amboise, Clos Lucé, Chaumont-sur-Loire, Chambord, Cheverny.
Guided forest bathing sessions led by specialist practitioners. Draws on the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku — slow, mindful immersion in the forest to reduce stress and reconnect with nature. The estate's 750-acre private forest is the setting. Sessions include 'lyrical hikes' and sensory immersion walks.
VIP hot air balloon excursion over the Loire Valley châteaux and vineyards, arranged by the hotel. One of the most dramatic ways to see the region.
Hotel can arrange boat trips on the Cher — gourmet cruises, a glide under Château de Chenonceau by electric boat, or canoe rental for more active guests.
A trail through the private forest dotted with large-scale art installations commissioned by Anne-Caroline Frey. Works include a giant dog sculpture by Aurèle, La Femme Loire by Michel Audiard, and other pieces. Open exclusively to hotel guests.
Available October to May only. An outdoor hot bath next to the (unheated) swimming pool — the idea is to alternate between the hot bath and cold pool for a bracing contrast therapy experience. Towels, blankets, and hairdryers provided in nearby locker rooms.
A 20m x 5m outdoor pool, strictly reserved for hotel guests. Open May to October from 9am to 8pm. Sunloungers, parasols, towels and foutas provided. The bartender can bring drinks poolside. Locker rooms nearby.
Hotel-curated wine tours to troglodyte cellars, vineyards, and the best Loire Valley winemakers. Includes guided tastings paired with local dishes.
