Why It Matters
One of the oldest hotels in Inveraray, operating since 1846. During WWII it was the only venue outside London used for Cabinet Office meetings. Today it holds an AA Rosette for its Cladach Mòr Bistro, and the Shore Spa — with its outdoor lochside hot tub and barrel sauna — is one of the more atmospheric spa setups in Argyll.
Operating since 1846, Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa sits in a restored Victorian manor right on the waterfront in Inveraray — a small Scottish town known as the 'Capital of Argyll'. The hotel has 67 rooms, an AA-Rosette-awarded bistro, and the Shore Spa with a 15-metre indoor pool and outdoor thermal experience. Rooms lean into the Highland setting with natural tones, tartan touches, polished wood and Highland Soap Co toiletries. The smallest room category — honest in its name. Good for solo travellers or couples on a short stay who plan to spend most of their time in the spa or out exploring. Same tasteful decor and quality bedding, just less square footage.
DoubleDeluxe
Spacious and well-furnished with a seating area, luxurious bedding, and calming Scottish decor. A solid step up from classic without going suite territory. Natural tones reflect the Highland landscape outside.
KingFamily Room
Set up with a king bed and one sofa bed to accommodate a family. Features a floor-to-ceiling vintage-tiled bathroom with rain shower, large mirror, robes, slippers and Scottish toiletries. The same calm colour palette as the classic rooms.

Three individually named rooms — Lagavulin, Hens Coup and Craws Nest — all situated in the top of the original 1856 house. They have plenty of character: roll-top baths, loch-facing windows, Nespresso machines and seating areas. Allocated first-come first-served; a specific named room can't be guaranteed at booking.
KingJunior Suite — Glen Ord
The largest room in the hotel, Glen Ord sits in the original 1846 building and looks straight across Loch Fyne to the Cowal Hills. Roll-top bath, ample seating area, Nespresso machine and Highland Soap Co toiletries. Suite guests get complimentary access to the outdoor thermal experience.
