Les Tilleuls
Old-money Norman mansion meets intimate maison d'hôtes. Oak parquet floors, antique Louis-Philippe furniture, toile de Jouy fabrics, and objects sourced from around the world. Warm and personal rather than corporate-hotel polished. The hosts are present and involved.

Why It Matters
One of the oldest private residences in Étretat, now with a gastronomic restaurant (Le 1738) run by a Michelin-starred Belgian chef limited to just 10–12 covers per service. Add a private cinema, a 900-bottle wine cellar, Thalgo marine wellness treatments, and cliff-top picnic baskets, and it's covering a lot of ground for a five-room property.
A Second Empire mansion built in 1738 — one of the oldest houses in Étretat — set in a leafy private garden just 300 metres from the alabaster cliffs that Monet painted twenty times over. Only five rooms, so it functions less like a hotel and more like borrowing a well-heeled friend's Norman estate. Since January 2025 it's been run by Belgian starred chef Julien Wauthier and his wife Alizée, who manage the restaurant, the wellness treatments, and essentially everything else.

On Property
How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel prepares a full picnic basket so you can watch the sun set on the Albaster Coast from the Falaise d'Aval cliffs. Everything included. A 300-metre walk from the front door.
E-bikes available on site for exploring the Étretat coast and surrounding countryside. One bike is equipped with a child seat. Day rental only (no half-days).
A private cinema in the basement for up to around 15 guests. Giant screen, Netflix, and a library of films. Perfect for a Normandy drizzle evening after dinner. Complimentary for guests.
The entire property can be hired for private events: birthdays, weddings, hen parties, photo shoots, film shoots, and corporate retreats. The mansion's 18th-century atmosphere and old parquet floors are a particular draw for editorial and advertising shoots.
A complete package: private plane flight over the Étretat cliffs, overnight stay, two exceptional meals, and two massages. The most theatrical way to arrive and experience the property.
Multi-day retreats programmed at the property, including yoga and detox formats led by external practitioners (e.g., a spring Yoga & Detox retreat with a Paris-based yoga teacher covering dynamic yoga, yin yoga, pranayama, and meditation). Typically 3-day residential programmes.
