Why It Matters

One of the few Paris luxury hotels with a Michelin-starred restaurant on-site (Restaurant Anne), a direct address on Place des Vosges — the oldest square in Paris — and a 17th-century pedigree tied to Anne of Austria. Privately owned and family-run by the Chevalier Paris group, which keeps service personal and consistent. Golden Keys concierge service and free private valet parking in central Paris are genuinely rare.

A 17th-century mansion tucked behind a wisteria-draped courtyard right on Place des Vosges — Paris's oldest square and still one of its most beautiful. The entrance is deliberately understated: you pass under the arcades of the square, through a heavy door, and suddenly the city noise disappears. Interior designer Didier Benderli of Kérylos Intérieurs has filled the 56 rooms with a warm, classic-meets-contemporary palette that feels genuinely residential rather than hotel-issue. And then there's Restaurant Anne, the Michelin-starred restaurant run by Chef Thibault Sombardier, which operates right inside the property.
