Le Kaila
Modern Alpine Chic meets cozy family warmth. Muted chocolate and ivory tones defer to natural-wood accents — both polished and reclaimed — with plush throws, expansive carpets, and open fireplaces. There's nothing taxidermied or kitschy here. The bones are chalet; the finish is contemporary.

Why It Matters
First and only 5-star hotel in Méribel. Awarded 1 Michelin Key in 2024. Its restaurant L'Ekrin, helmed by chef Laurent Azoulay, holds the only Michelin star in the resort and has since 2015. Private ski elevator from the in-house ski shop to the slopes is genuinely hard to match in the Alps.
Le Kaïla draws its name from the Tibetan word 'Kailash,' meaning 'jewel of the snows' — and it does take that brief seriously. A family-owned 5-star at 1,500m in the center of Méribel, it is the only hotel in the resort with true ski-in/ski-out access via a private elevator direct from the in-house ski shop. Rooms run from compact cocoons to a 295 m² top-floor chalet duplex sleeping 12. The hotel holds 1 Michelin Key (2024) and its restaurant, L'Ekrin, is the sole Michelin-starred dining room in all of Méribel.
