Landhaus Flottbek Boutique Hotel
Scandinavian-influenced country house meets casual luxury. Think concrete and dark beams in some rooms, powdery pastels and luxurious fabrics in others, plus a barn-style conversion and a Hamptons-esque suite. The whole property centres on hygge: comfort, warmth, and time well spent.

Why It Matters
HYGGE Brasserie & Bar is the real draw — a multiple-award-winning restaurant holding a Michelin Bib Gourmand (2025), Gault & Millau 2 Black Hoods (2024), Gusto 6 Pfannen, and ranked No. 1 in Hamburg by Der Feinschmecker's Top 500 Restaurants (2024). The restaurant also operates its own 2,000m² urban farm nearby. The hotel itself sits in one of Hamburg's most handsome residential quarters, surrounded by parks, mansions, and easy access to the Elbe.
A 200-year-old farmhouse complex converted into a 26-room boutique hotel in the leafy Gross Flottbek suburb, about 15 minutes west of Hamburg's city centre by S-Bahn. The hotel runs on the Danish concept of hygge — warm, unhurried, quality over fuss — right down to its award-winning on-site brasserie of the same name. Old ceiling beams, oak floorboards, and an open fireplace set the tone. Owner Nils Jacobsen keeps it personal.

From nearby Teufelsbrück (about 2km), guests can take the HADAG public ferry Line 62 along the Elbe into Hamburg's city centre via Oevelgönne, Fischmarkt, and Landungsbrücken — a scenic alternative to the S-Bahn.
