Why It Matters
A Relais & Châteaux member since 2012 with a 1 Michelin-star restaurant. One of the very few places in the Netherlands where you can stable your own horse, dine at a top-ranked table, and walk directly into one of the country's largest unbroken nature reserves — all in the same day. The estate has been continuously family-run for over 75 years across three generations.
A three-generation family estate hotel in the forests of the Dutch Veluwe, where the Sörensen family has been welcoming guests since 1947. The 9-hectare grounds include a monumental 1912 villa, English-style landscaped gardens, a heated outdoor pool, tennis court, and stables — all surrounded by 3,000 hectares of protected woodland managed by the Dutch National Trust. The anchor is a Michelin-starred restaurant helmed by chef Dennis van den Beld, rated 15.5 by Gault&Millau.
