A three-generation family estate hotel in the forests of the Dutch Veluwe, where the Sörensen family has been welcoming guests since 1947. Grand Suite Manegehuis / Family Suite
Situated in the sunlit Manegehuis glade at the forest's edge. Two suites, each with its own private garden. Together they sleep 4 adults and 4 children, making this the best family option on the estate. Can also be booked as the entire exclusive villa for 2-night minimum.
Poolse Huis (Polish House) Rooms
Four rooms in the former butler's quarters adjacent to the main villa, nestled in the woods next to the swimming pool. Thatched-roof exterior. A quiet and self-contained feel, with immediate access to the Poolhouse area.
Room Comfort
Entry-level rooms in the main villa or estate buildings. Classic country house style with warm furnishings, free Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TV. Quiet and comfortable, with access to all estate facilities.
Suite with Sauna (Koetshuis)
Part of the five brand-new suites unveiled May 24, 2024 in the Koetshuis (Coach House). Each of the two sauna suites has a private sauna, whirlpool bath, air conditioning, and a private terrace. The Coach House was originally the Count of Limburg Stirum's carriage house — now completely reimagined.
Villa Struyckenbergen
A recently renovated self-catering country house on the edge of the Stakenbergse Heide, 3km from the main estate. Sleeps 12–14 in six double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom (7 bathrooms total). Private spa building with Finnish sauna and wellness shower. Outdoor whirlpool in the garden. Fully equipped kitchen, plus catering delivery available from Het Roode Koper's kitchen.
Voorhuis Rooms
Four rooms in the former gardener's cottage, rebuilt in 2010 to match the estate's architectural style. Conveniently located near the riding school — the obvious choice if you're arriving with horses.

Cycle routes begin directly at the estate. A 21km mountain bike loop runs past the property and can be extended by an additional 23km. Bike rental available on site: city bikes, mountain bikes, tandems, and cargo bikes — all available electric.
Electric bikes available to rent from the estate — used in the Experience Spring package to ride to Paleis het Loo (Royal Palace). Can be arranged independently as well.
Golf courses within approximately 3km of the estate. Not on-site but recommended by the hotel.
A pétanque/jeu-de-boules court tucked away next to the kitchen garden. Relaxed and low-key — a good afternoon activity with a glass in hand.
A grass tennis court set among trees and rhododendrons on the estate grounds. Rackets and balls are available from reception. Open year-round.

Private guided walks through the Leuvenumse Bos with estate naturalist Gerrit Rekers, who knows the best spots for flora, fauna, and wildlife sightings. The estate works closely with the Dutch National Trust (Natuurmonumenten) to maintain access to the surrounding 3,000 hectares.
Hiking routes start directly at Het Roode Koper and lead through kilometers of forest, heathland, and tranquil Veluwe landscapes. No transfer needed — just step off the grounds and go.
The hotel prepares packed picnic backpacks for guests to enjoy in the forest or on a hike. Part of the Experience Spring package but available on request year-round.
A heated outdoor swimming pool with luxury sun loungers and parasols, open from April to October. Exclusive to hotel guests. Complemented by a bar and summer restaurant on the lounge terrace.
Guests can bring their own horses and stable them in the on-site riding school, which has 7 boxes. Bridle paths lead directly from the estate into the Veluwe. A dedicated Horse & Rider midweek package is available.
