Lakehouse Resort sits right on the shores of Lake San Marcos, 30 miles north of San Diego in a quiet inland valley surrounded by rolling hills and avocado groves. It's one of the very few places in Southern California where you can actually sleep on a freshwater lake — and then kayak, paddleboard, or take a pontoon out from the on-site marina the next morning.
