La Tartane
Sun-bleached 1920s French Riviera — rattan headboards, travertine tables, embroidered textiles, and citrus trees everywhere. It's intimate and relaxed, not grand or imposing. More family home than palace hotel.

Why It Matters
Ranked 17th best new hotel in the world by Travel & Leisure and No. 1 on the French Riviera after its recent renovation. Member of American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts. Seasonal only (mid-May to mid-September). The 2025 season introduces Gaia, a Greek-Mediterranean restaurant by acclaimed chefs Izu Ani and Orestis Kotefas.
La Tartane is a 27-room boutique hotel designed as a Provençal hamlet, set in a 2-hectare Mediterranean garden midway between the Saint-Tropez port and Plage des Salins. Six stucco houses — each named after a 1920s Riviera figure (Ernest, Peggy, Pablo, Gabrielle, Sara, Scott) — hold the rooms and suites. The interiors were designed by Jordan Arrivetz of Maison Notoire Paris, with hand-painted artwork throughout by Brazilian artist João Incerti. Rooms are small by luxury standards, but the outdoor space is genuinely beautiful.
