Why It Matters
One of only a handful of Relais & Châteaux properties in Corsica, and the only one in Calvi. The Casanera spa uses 100% organic 'Made in Maquis' products created in-house by Marie Ceccaldi — a line that now has its own retail boutiques across Corsica. The treehouse, suspended in chestnut wood above the garden with views straight into the Bonifato cirque, is genuinely one of a kind.
An 18th-century Genoese estate turned Relais & Châteaux property, La Signoria sits 4km outside Calvi at the foot of the Bonifato forest. The Ceccaldi family has run it since 1987 — currently Marie and Jean-Baptiste — and that ownership shows in the way it feels: more private home than hotel. Thirty rooms, suites, apartments, and villas spread across a 3-hectare park of palms, eucalyptus, orange trees, and century-old pines, with a chestnut-wood treehouse perched above it all. Genuinely nothing else like it in Corsica.
