La Passerelle de Pont-Aven
Art Deco-inflected chambre d'hôtes. High ceilings, blonde oak parquet, a creaky staircase, and rooms thick with character — more Breton grandma's house than boutique hotel, in the best way. The light really is extraordinary.
In summer (July–September) a minimum 3-night stay is required. Plan accordingly.
Why It Matters
Michelin Guide–selected for 2026. Member of Tablet Hotels. The only chambre d'hôtes in Pont-Aven sitting literally at the harbour in front of the town's famous bridge, with unobstructed Aven river views from every room. Named after the host's nieces. Breakfast rates a 9.4 on Booking.com.
A sun-flooded early 20th-century family home sitting directly across from the footbridge over the Aven river in Pont-Aven — Brittany's storied artists' town where Gauguin and the Post-Impressionists once chased the light. Host Yves Bigot runs just four individually named guest rooms, each decorated with an eclectic mix of antique furnishings, gilt mirrors, and objets d'art. Out back, a terraced garden overlooks the river and rooftops; out front, the harbour is right there.
