Why It Matters

Founded by Abdallah El Ghandour as a personal vision of what Abidjan's hospitality could be, it remains the city's design benchmark. Abidjan's first boutique hotel sits in the quiet residential enclave of Les Deux Plateaux, a world away from the city's commercial noise. Nine low-slung structures fan out across lush grounds planted with over 200 varieties of palm trees, connected by garden paths that lead past a green-marble pool to the restaurant terrace and bar. The interiors — designed by architect Désiré M'Bengue and interior designer Maxime Liautard — combine terrazzo floors, wood paneling, warm neutral linens, local art, and textiles curated by a Senegalese designer. It's the rare West African hotel that genuinely pulls in locals and business travelers in equal measure.
