La Maison Bleue started life as a private dock and guesthouse built for Orascom founder Samih Sawiris, designed by antiques collector Amr Khalil and architect Olivier Sednaoui. It never really left that private-home feeling. Thirteen suites, each with its own personality — parquet floors, wall murals by local artists, crystal chandeliers, marble stairways — sit behind a powder-blue façade on the northern shores of Mangroovy Beach. The food is genuinely good (chef Vincent Guillou's menus lean French and Egyptian, fed by an on-site hydroponic greenhouse), the spa is serious, and the whole place moves at its own pace. It holds a 1 Michelin Key (2025) and is a member of Relais & Châteaux.

Two ground-floor suites with direct access to the private lagoon and gardens through a large furnished terrace — you step off the terrace straight into the water. Inside, period furniture from around the world, high ceilings, and parquet floors frame a king-size bed. Six of these suites are spread across the property, each with its own singular character. Hardwood parquet floors, pastel walls, and crystal or porcelain chandeliers set the tone. Intricate rugs, one-off antique furnishings, and paintings by local artists are standard across all of them.
