La Ferme du Chozal
Authentic Alpine farmhouse with contemporary Scandinavian touches. Warm and genuinely family-run, not corporate. Think roaring fireplace, Arpin wool textiles, antique furniture mixed with modern lighting — cozy without being kitsch.
Book the Mazot well in advance — there's only one and it has the best Mont Blanc view of any room
Why It Matters
True ski-in/ski-out access off the Chozal chairlift, a Michelin- and Gault&Millau-recognized gastronomic restaurant with a 700+ bottle Alpine wine list, and one of the few places in the area housed in a lovingly restored farmhouse with an authentic 1849 mazot granary as a standalone accommodation unit.
La Ferme du Chozal is a family-run, 4-star spa chalet hotel at 1,183m in the Beaufortain Valley, operating since 2003. Anne-Christine and Frédéric Boulanger converted this genuine 19th-century Savoyard farmhouse into something that actually feels like home — local stonework, Arpin wool fabrics, antique furniture, paneled walls — with a gastronomic restaurant that the Michelin Guide and Gault&Millau both take seriously. The Chozal chairlift is literally at the front door, giving you ski-in/ski-out access to 192km of Espace Diamant slopes. And come summer, the same spot becomes a quiet base for hiking in the Beaufortain, with Mont Blanc framed in the pool's overflow edge.
