Why It Matters
One of the few hotels in Paris with a genuine narrative concept executed consistently from lobby to suite. It's also the only hotel on rue du Cherche-Midi with an indoor pool and hammam — a real rarity for this size of Left Bank boutique. The Michelin Guide includes it. Tablet Hotels lists it. And the owners (Corinne and Pascal Moncelli) have clearly kept standards up: repeat guests are extremely common.
La Belle Juliette is a 45-room boutique hotel on the quiet rue du Cherche-Midi in the 6th arrondissement, designed by Anne Gelbard as an homage to Juliette Récamier — the celebrated 19th-century Parisian socialite whose literary salon attracted the greatest minds of her era. Each of the five floors is dedicated to a different chapter of Juliette's life, rendered in distinct color palettes ranging from cool ice blue to cobalt and warm taupe. Portraits and memorabilia are scattered throughout, but this isn't a period museum piece — it reads as a sharp, design-forward Left Bank hotel that happens to have a very good backstory.
