Why It Matters
El Jadida's first boutique hotel, and still the best. It occupies two genuinely historic buildings inside a UNESCO World Heritage site — a converted Spanish/Catholic church and the former American consulate — decorated with individual antique finds from across Morocco. Opened in 2012, it spreads across two historic buildings: the church itself (where the nave doubles as a lounge-bar) and La Capitainerie, the former American consulate next door. The aesthetic is genuinely strange and wonderful — Art Deco furniture, vintage radios, ornate Moroccan lanterns, hand-embroidered linens, and Barcelona chairs sitting under glass chandeliers in a 19th-century church. It works.

Two large, bright suites — one inside the former church, one in La Capitainerie. Very large rooms with high ceilings and wrought-iron beds. The Capitainerie suite can accommodate a family with two children (two single sofabeds on request). One reviewer described the suite as 'nothing short of gigantic,' with wooden floorboards, multiple windows overlooking the street, and a spectacular bathroom. Breakfast included.
Superior Luxe
Seven luxury superior rooms, each with a different outlook — ocean, ramparts, or the old Portuguese city. Still individually decorated with Art Deco furniture, kilims, vintage radios, and ornate lanterns. Private bathrooms with deep soaking tubs and rainfall showerheads. Three twin rooms and a superior room located in the former church building. All decorated individually with 1930s–1950s-style furnishings and Moroccan antique finds.
