Regency Seragaki Island Okinawa
Contemporary resort-island. Clean, international Hyatt Regency polish with deliberate Okinawan accents — think unglazed Ryukyuan tiles in the lobby, yukata in rooms, local awamori at the bar, and a Gusuku Pool framed by walls modeled on ancient Okinawan castle stonework.
Regency Club access is worth the upgrade — complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails add real value
Why It Matters
One of the only resort hotels in Okinawa to occupy an entire private island. The Lagoon is the sole seawater-circulating infinity pool on the island chain. The second-floor Shirakachi dining complex houses four distinct Japanese concepts — robata, sushi, teppanyaki, and kaiseki — under one roof.
Seragaki Island sits just off Okinawa's west coast, connected to the mainland by a short bridge — and it's all hotel. The 343-room Hyatt Regency claims the entire island, so every room faces the East China Sea from an open balcony. Rooms start at a practical 38 sqm in standard configurations, done up in earth tones with local touches like ceiling fans and yukata. Six restaurants, a one-of-a-kind seawater infinity pool (Lagoon), Spa Hanari, and a full marine activity club mean you genuinely don't need to leave. But here's the thing: you're also about 50 minutes by car from Naha Airport, so you feel the distance.
