Not a traditional hotel — the property rewards guests who lean into its intentional, unplug-focused ethos.
Book a Riverview King Cabin over a Forest Queen if river views are the draw — there is a meaningful difference in position and size (209sf vs. smaller queen units).
Why It Matters
One of the few properties in the region that genuinely threads the needle between industrial ruin and luxury hospitality. The Hudson Valley's last remaining brickyard gantry crane still stands on-site. Salt Hotels (now Hutton Spa) opened the property in May 2021 to wide editorial acclaim, landing on Travel + Leisure's 2022 IT List and earning an AHEAD Americas 2021 Event Space of the Year award.
A decommissioned 19th-century brickyard on the Hudson River, reborn in 2021 as a sprawling hotel, spa, and event destination on roughly 100 acres in Kingston, NY. The Hutton Brick Works Company once supplied bricks for Yankee Stadium and the Empire State Building — today the same grounds hold private waterfront cabins, a restored Second Empire mansion, two restaurants, barrel saunas, and a full events calendar. About two hours from Manhattan by car, or Amtrak to Rhinecliff-Kingston.

Cordt Suite (Edgewood Mansion)
Named after original mansion owner John H. Cordts. Third-floor suite with a separate seating area, a workspace nook, a king bedroom, and a fully renovated bathroom with both a walk-in shower and a clawfoot tub. A genuinely comfortable suite for a longer stay.
KingDeluxe Queen Cabin
Pine-interior cabins set among the grounds, designed for convenience with intuitive storage and luxury linens. Features a queen bed and fold-down futon (sleeps two comfortably, three at a stretch). Compact bathroom with a generous shower. Spacious front deck made for cocktails and sunsets. A step down in size from the King cabins but good value.

Edgewood Suite (Edgewood Mansion)
The flagship suite in the mansion. Separate living and sleeping areas make it feel residential rather than hotel-like. A cozy dining nook is tucked into a Victorian bay window — a genuinely special architectural feature. King bed, fully renovated bathroom, large seating area, and expansive views of the grounds.
KingForest Queen Cabin
The most intimate and forested of the Queen options. Same amenities as the Deluxe Queen at a smaller scale with more wooded privacy. Good for guests who prioritize seclusion over space. Star-watching deck, compact shower, and that same Hutton cabin atmosphere. No river view from these units.
QueenKing Cabin
Same design and footprint as the Riverview King, but the floor-to-ceiling glass faces the forest and grounds instead of the river. Still very handsome. An accessible unit is available in this category. Great option if river views aren't your priority and you want a slightly more sheltered, wooded feel.

Loft Suite (Edgewood Mansion)
On Edgewood's third floor with an open floor plan and sweeping views of the grounds. The exposed freestanding clawfoot bathtub in the bedroom is the signature feature — genuinely dramatic. Fully renovated bathroom alongside the tub, plus a seating area. Best option in the mansion if you want space and romance in equal measure.
KingRiverview King Cabin
The most in-demand room on property. A floor-to-ceiling glass wall faces the Hudson River directly — you wake up with the river as your backdrop. Shaker-modern design with a private deck (52sf), plush bedding, apothecary bath products, and a turntable with vinyl curated by Toni Hacker. Compact but very well appointed. No TV.
KingRiverview Queen Cabin
Set on a gentle hill next to the historic engine house, these cabins have larger windows over the queen bed with a distanced (not direct) river view. Closest of the queen cabins to the restaurant and event pavilions. Communal firepit and outdoor lounge seating shared with neighboring units — more social vibe than the forest options.
QueenStandard Queen (Edgewood Mansion)
The coziest — and most affordable — room inside Edgewood Mansion. Small but packed with character: a bright palette, fully renovated bathroom, and original early 1900s artwork on the walls. Good for those who want the mansion experience without the suite price tag. Storage is limited.
QueenSuperior King (Edgewood Mansion)
Spacious by mansion standards with a king bed, a sitting area good for a cocktail or a quick email check, and a fully renovated bathroom. Victorian detailing is at its most pronounced in these rooms — original cornices, period millwork, and artwork by Christopher Noxon.
KingSuperior Queen (Edgewood Mansion)
A step up from the Standard Queen with a cozy sitting area and more original Victorian charm. Fully renovated bathroom and tons of period detail. Solid mid-tier option in the mansion.
QueenThe Cottage
The most spacious accommodation on property and the best option for groups of up to four. A historic Hutton Brickyards structure with serious character. Downstairs king bedroom, upstairs loft with a queen bed, a wet room bathroom with clawfoot soaking tub and separate shower, wet bar, dining area, living room, and a large private courtyard ready for outdoor entertaining. Feels more like renting a house than staying in a hotel.
