Huilo Nawelpi Lodge
Rustic-chic rainforest immersion. Wood-beamed interiors, parquet floors, open fireplaces, and private hot tubs — nothing slick or corporate. The feel is intimate and deeply forested, not resort-polished. Staff-to-guest ratios are high, and the personal attention is consistently praised.
Request the Restaurant Nawel dinner when booking — it's private to Nawelpi guests and far more memorable than the buffet at the main Nothofagus Hotel
Why It Matters
One of just a handful of luxury lodges inside a private biological reserve in Chilean Patagonia, with only 12 suites and its own private restaurant (Club House Nawel) that serves a signature fusion of Mapuche indigenous cuisine and settler cooking. The reserve itself spans 60,000 hectares of Valdivian temperate rainforest.
Twelve bungalows sitting right on the banks of the Fuy River, deep inside the Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve. The whole place is connected by elevated forest catwalks, so you move through the Patagonian rainforest rather than just looking at it from a window. Each suite comes with its own private hot tub on the terrace — you'll hear the river while you soak. It's the most intimate, adult-only option within the larger Huilo Huilo resort complex, with a dedicated chef and a guide assigned specifically to Nawelpi guests.
