Hotel Pod Różą
Historic grandeur meets restrained contemporary luxury. Parquet floors, fresco ceilings, and coarse stone walls coexist with modern chic furniture and bronze details. Old-world gravitas without stuffiness.

Why It Matters
Poland's oldest continuously operating hotel. Guests have included Tsar Alexander I, Grand Duke Constantine, Napoleon's Persian emissary Mohamed Riza, Franz Liszt, and Honoré de Balzac. The subterranean spa — set in atmospheric, vaulted 14th-century cellars — is one of a kind in Krakow. The hotel is also the only place in Poland offering Sodashi organic treatments. Listed in the Michelin Guide.
Pod Różą — 'under the rose' — is Krakow's oldest hotel, operating from a four-storey Renaissance palace that once belonged to Prospero Provano, courtier to Queen Bona. The building dates to the 17th century; the portal still bears its original Latin inscription warning that the house will stand until the ant drinks all the ocean's water. After a thorough 2020 renovation, its 57 individually designed rooms and suites blend bespoke walnut-and-cherry furniture with noble stone bathrooms (Fior Di Bosco, Calacatta, Rosso Verona marble). Two restaurants, a Sodashi spa hidden in medieval vaulted cellars, and a wine collection of 300+ Italian vintages round things out — all within a 2-minute walk of Main Market Square.
