Why It Matters
One of Downtown LA's most architecturally significant hotel conversions, housed in a genuine 1922 landmark with a restored 20-foot Italianate gilded ceiling over the main dining room. The rooftop pool has some of the most dramatic skyline views in the city.
Hotel Per La lives inside the 1922 Giannini Building — the old Bank of Italy headquarters — on the corner of 7th and Olive in Downtown LA. The 12-story Art Deco pile is the real draw: Doric columns, ornate golden ceilings, and marble floors that have been preserved and woven into a contemporary Italian-inflected design. 'Per La' is Italian for 'for the,' nodding to founder Amadeo Giannini's belief in banking for ordinary people — and the name now signals the hotel's inclusive, community-first ethos.

The flagship at 1,145 sq ft, named for founder Amadeo Pietro Giannini. A proper apartment: spacious living room with antique desk and library, dining room that seats 8, a separate kitchenette with fridge and oven, guest powder room, and an oversized master bathroom with a freestanding tub and separate powder room. If you're entertaining, this is the room.

Hotel Per La is an official FIFA World Cup 2026 supporter hotel. Dedicated programming and packages available for soccer fans attending World Cup matches in LA.
