Hotel Morgana is a family-owned, 20-room boutique hotel sitting one block from 5th Avenue and about 500 meters from the beach. Every single room is themed after a figure or event from Mexican history — Frida Kahlo, Jorge Negrete, María Félix, Agustín Lara — and no two rooms look alike. The building climbs floor by floor through different eras of Mexican culture, culminating in a rooftop saltwater pool, a solarium, and (when open) the Consuela restaurant with views stretching toward Cozumel.

Exterior Room (Patio-Facing)
Four exterior rooms face the back patio and overlook the hotel's large colorful mural. Three have balconies; one has only sealed windows. The hotel warns you to watch your head on entry to these rooms — the ceilings are lower. Good for guests who want to stare at the art. About 23 square meters.

Six of the ten exterior rooms face the street and connect to an interior room. Each has a balcony screened by the iconic 'Papel Picado' perforated facade — which gives privacy while letting light and air through. These are the no-frills option — compact, clean, and entirely unique in their decor. Each is named after a Mexican historical or cultural figure. No balcony, but the same quality of custom tilework, bespoke furniture, and Nespresso machine you get everywhere else in the building.

Named after the legendary Mexican actress and diva of the Golden Age of cinema. About 50 square meters, with the same split living/sleeping layout as the Peyote Suite. The settee alludes to María Félix's famously arched eyebrow. Strong character energy — not subtle. Located on the 2nd floor with a back-of-building view.

Patio Room
Only two of these exist, and they are among the most sought-after. Located on the ground floor at the back of the hotel, each has its own private Mexican-tiled patio at the base of the large rear mural — complete with a personal jacuzzi. The Frida Kahlo room is the most famous of these: heavy on the color and pattern that defined the artist, with a patio jacuzzi right outside the door.
KingPeyote Suite
One of two suites and probably the more Instagram-famous. The decor is inspired by the hallucinogenic Peyote cactus — floor-to-ceiling color, texture, and mind-bending engraving work. About 50 square meters, split into a living area and sleeping area by a solid wood floor-to-ceiling pillar. Has a sofa bed, making it the only room type that can fit more than two guests. Located on the 4th floor.

The hotel has an arrangement with a nearby beach club — guests do not pay for beach chair and umbrella rental. Ask at front desk on arrival for current details on which club and how to access the deal.
