Why It Matters
Sits within a UNESCO World Heritage landscape (Val d'Orcia) in one of Italy's only villages where the central piazza is a thermal bath. Hotel La Posta is a 5-star family-run thermal hotel sitting on top of one of Tuscany's most unusual addresses: Bagno Vignoni, a medieval village where the main piazza is literally a pool of thermal water. The hotel started life as a post station for letters and horses, passed through the Marcucci family in the mid-19th century, and is now run by the Costa family — the same family behind Hotel La Perla in the Dolomites. Three outdoor thermal pools fed by natural springs at 49°C, a proper spa wing, a restaurant with Rocca d'Orcia views, and 35 quietly elegant rooms make this a genuinely special place to slow down in the Val d'Orcia.

A self-contained 80m² apartment set right beside the village's main square, about 200m from the hotel. Exposed beam ceilings, terracotta floors, and a fully equipped kitchen. Living room, dining room, one double bedroom, and two bathrooms (one with shower, one with WC only). Bed linen, towels, spa robes, and daily housekeeping all included. Good for two people who want independence and the feel of actually living in the medieval village.

Guided tasting of extra virgin olive oils, including locally produced Olivastra Seggianese DOP, showcasing the character of different varieties and territories.
