Why It Matters
One of Rome's oldest luxury hotels, operating since 1889, with a guest book including royalty, heads of state, Ingrid Bergman, and John F. Kennedy Jr. The rooftop La Terrazza restaurant earned a Michelin star in late 2025 under Executive Chef Salvatore Bianco. Winner of Best Hotel in Rome 2024 by Condé Nast Traveler. Hotel Eden opened in 1889 and has been a fixture of Rome's luxury hospitality scene ever since. Joined the Dorchester Collection in 2013, then closed for a full renovation that wrapped in spring 2017 — the redesign involved four acclaimed French designers (Bruno Moinard, Claire Bétaille, Patrick Jouin, and Sanjit Manku) who gave the interiors a golden, airy feel without stripping out the palazzo soul. Ninety-eight rooms and suites sit just above the Spanish Steps, with rooftop panoramas sweeping from the Quirinale to St. Peter's. No pool. But the view from the sixth floor at sunset makes that easy to forget.

Once home to Ingrid Bergman. The 86 sqm interior is a tranquil suite with a freestanding bathtub and garden views, but the real draw is the 120 sqm private outdoor terrace with a dining area seating up to ten people. Butler on request.

The top of the hotel in every sense. 202 sqm on the rooftop, accessed by a private lift with its own security lobby. Floor-to-ceiling windows open fully to flood the suite with natural light and unobstructed views of Rome. A study, spacious living room, dining area for up to eight, king bedroom, marble bathroom with a circular bathtub and separate walk-in shower. 55" and 75" Bang & Olufsen TVs, Dyson hairdryer, hardwood floors. The suite was the site of a historic meeting between Louis Vuitton and Bulgari.
