Hotel de Rougemont & Spa
Alpine boutique luxury — think Swiss chalet fantasy done with restraint. Natural materials everywhere: wood grain, wool, linen, leather. Warm and faintly spiced atmosphere. Supports local artists with rotating exhibits. Positioned above Rougemont's 11th-century Romanesque church.
The spa is open to outside guests daily, subject to availability — worth calling ahead even if you're not staying
Why It Matters
One of the few small luxury properties in the Gstaad orbit that isn't trying to be a mega-resort. It has genuine character: all rooms face south, the spa is open to locals (rare), the wine room seats 8 for private tastings, and the Grand Chalet is a separately rentable five-bedroom private residence within the building.
A 33-room Alpine boutique hotel set in the Pays-d'Enhaut, just minutes from Gstaad. Built on the footprint of an old village hotel, it leans into Swiss chalet aesthetics hard — pine walls, brown leather, warm furs, king-size beds — while keeping things genuinely refined rather than kitschy. The Roc restaurant, indoor pool spa, private cinema, and wine room round out a property that feels far more complete than its size suggests.
