Hotel Dama
Mid-century modern boutique. Curated calm. Residential cool, not hotel-slick.
The Margarita Dama — mezcal, tequila, pineapple, jalapeño-cilantro syrup — is among the best cocktails in the neighborhood. Order one immediately on arrival.
Why It Matters
One of Mexico City's strongest examples of adaptive reuse done right — a 1950s apartment complex transformed into a design-forward boutique stay with genuine neighborhood character. Tablet Hotels-listed. No pool, no gym, no parking, but the service and design more than compensate. Breakfast on the rooftop is included and genuinely exceptional.
Hotel Dama is a 17-room boutique hotel carved out of a preserved 1940s/50s apartment building on a quiet residential block in Condesa. Architects Paulina Herrera Chain and Patricio Galindo Chain did the conversion, keeping the mid-century bones intact and layering in black-and-white checkered tile floors, custom wood furniture, and a sunken library lounge that feels more like a chic friend's living room than a hotel lobby. The rooftop — shaded by seasonal jacarandas and serving proper cocktails and Mexican food — is the real draw.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Small self-serve tequila bar in the lobby. Free for guests. Pour a shot on your way out for dinner — it's that kind of place.
The rooftop bar transitions from breakfast service into an all-day cocktail spot. Artisanal cocktails, mezcalitas, and the signature Margarita Dama are served through the evening. Seasonal jacaranda canopy overhead.
Sunken mid-century lounge stocked with books of local photography, design tomes, and art titles alongside ceramics and prints. A quiet retreat in the middle of a busy city.
A house car is available upon request for local transfers. Useful for airport runs or getting to neighborhoods farther afield without dealing with rideshare apps.
The hotel curates its own neighborhood guide (available on the website and at the front desk) covering local restaurants, galleries, parks, and nightlife. Staff are known for personalized restaurant reservations and local tips.
