Hostellerie Lafarques
Formal country manor with warm Anglo-Norman character. Classic interiors — oak floors, plush furnishings, Nordic duvets — meet a focused, gastronomy-first ethos. Small-scale and personal, not a resort.

Why It Matters
The property carries serious culinary legacy — Michel Lafarque put it on the Michelin map decades ago, and the tradition has held through multiple chefs. It's now the #1-ranked restaurant in Pepinster and sits in the Michelin Guide hotel selection. The 20-hectare domain, heliport, and genuinely wildlife-filled grounds are rare for a property this size.
A 1927 Anglo-Norman half-timbered manor set on 20 hectares of parkland, roughly halfway between Liège and the spa town of Spa. Historically one of Belgium's most celebrated gastronomic addresses — formerly Michelin-starred and a Relais & Châteaux member — Lafarques now runs as an intimate 8-room hostellerie with a serious restaurant, a heated outdoor pool, and enough resident wildlife (deer, donkeys, horses, wild boar) to feel genuinely rural. Chef Olivier Tucki has led the kitchen since 2017, building menus around local producers and seasonal finds.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Cycling routes available in the surrounding Herve plateau and Ardenne Bleue region. The hotel's location between Liège and Spa puts guests within reach of a variety of terrain.
A free on-site heliport for guests arriving by helicopter.
The Herve Plateau long-distance trail passes through typical Belgian landscapes — meadows, orchards, and hedgerows. The High Fens National Park is also within easy reach for more serious hiking.
Twenty hectares of parkland and woodland to explore on foot. The domain is home to deer, does, wild boar, squirrels, horses, donkeys, and goats. Dozens of birdhouses and active beehives are scattered through the woods — a genuinely quiet, restorative experience.
Horse riding available in the surrounding area. The domain itself keeps horses on the grounds.
A separate private dining room accommodates groups of up to 30 for seminars, board meetings, or intimate celebrations. The main restaurant can seat 50 for banquets. Wedding receptions and corporate events are regularly hosted here.
