Why It Matters
The property carries serious culinary legacy — Michel Lafarque put it on the Michelin map decades ago, and the tradition has held through multiple chefs. It's now the #1-ranked restaurant in Pepinster and sits in the Michelin Guide hotel selection. A 1927 Anglo-Norman half-timbered manor set on 20 hectares of parkland, roughly halfway between Liège and the spa town of Spa. Historically one of Belgium's most celebrated gastronomic addresses — formerly Michelin-starred and a Relais & Châteaux member — Lafarques now runs as an intimate 8-room hostellerie with a serious restaurant, a heated outdoor pool, and enough resident wildlife (deer, donkeys, horses, wild boar) to feel genuinely rural. Chef Olivier Tucki has led the kitchen since 2017, building menus around local producers and seasonal finds.

Comptoir des Laines Room
Themed around Verviers' historic wool trade — natural, earthy tones. Classic comfort with oak floors, park views and all standard amenities. A nod to the region's industrial textile heritage.
Junior Suite
Three junior suites are larger than the standard rooms and add a separate seating/living area. Some have a private balcony or terrace overlooking the park. En-suite bathroom with bathtub and shower, bathrobes, full minibar, air conditioning and free WiFi. Reviewed by guests as 'absolutely beautiful' with spa-quality bathrooms.
Passion Simenon Room
Sensual and distinguished in character — named with a nod to Belgian crime writer Georges Simenon. Darker, more dramatic décor than the other rooms. Oak floors, park view, full en-suite.
Princesses de Liège Room
One of the individually themed rooms at Lafarques, decorated in vanilla and grayish blue tones — soft and romantic. Named after the famous Liège pear variety. Oak floors, park views, full en-suite with bathtub or shower.
Standard Double Room
Spacious rooms with warm oak floors, air conditioning and free WiFi. Each has a flat-screen TV, minibar, desk, tea/coffee machine, and en-suite bathroom with bathtub or shower, separate toilet, bathrobes and hairdryer. All but one room overlook the 20-hectare park.
