Hollywood Volume
Indie-adventurous boutique with a cinematic Hollywood attitude. Rooms lean apartment-like — hardwood floors, natural earth tones, local art. The bar program goes hard on themed experiences: think Pioneertown-meets-Palm Springs on the roof and Tulum jungle vibes downstairs. Not stuffy at all.
The Mixer (complimentary premixed cocktails, beer, wine, chips & salsa) runs 5–6pm daily at VOLUME Café — worth timing your return to the hotel around it.
Why It Matters
The Tribute Portfolio rebrand gave this corner of Hollywood a genuinely interesting hotel identity: a Yucatan restaurant from Guerilla Tacos' Wes Avila on the ground floor, a country-western rooftop bar with live music and Cowboy Karaoke on weekends, and a gym designed by celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson. Rooms start at 195 sq ft — compact but well-executed. Parking is valet-only at $55/day, so budget accordingly.
Hollywood Volume opened in October 2024 on the former site of the Tommie Hollywood hotel, trading its JdV by Hyatt flag for Marriott's Tribute Portfolio boutique collection. Same building, same managers (Ten Five Hospitality), same restaurants — but a fresh identity built around a self-styled 'daring individualism' ethos. It's a 212-room, 4-star property on Selma Avenue between Sunset and Hollywood Boulevard, squarely in the thick of Hollywood. The rooftop's country bar and pool, a Yucatan-inspired restaurant from a celebrated taco chef, and a lobby café with complimentary evening cocktails for guests make for a lineup that's actually worth staying in for.
