Why It Matters
Listed on Tablet Hotels and GreenSign certified. First hotel in Oldenburg to take design seriously at this level. The Oh Honey bar draws locals as much as guests, which is always a good sign. Part of a small northern German group (three properties total) that clearly has a strong point of view.
HIIVE opened in March 2023 as the anchor tenant of the DREI HÖFE mixed-use complex in central Oldenburg, and it's genuinely the sharpest hotel in town. The industrial aesthetic is committed: exposed concrete ceilings, black steel frames, oak parquet floors, and furnishings by Vitra, Menu, and Muuto throughout. It's aimed squarely at business travelers who find corporate chain hotels soul-destroying, but city-breakers from Hamburg or Bremen fit right in too. The in-house Oh Honey bar and restaurant has become a genuine neighborhood spot, not just a hotel afterthought, which says a lot about a 100-room property in a city most people drive through.
