Hana
Franco-Japanese Japonisme: Belle Époque opulence meets wabi-sabi restraint. Dark iroko wood, straw walls, velvet headboards, floral Jacquard silks, paper lantern-inspired light fixtures. Feels like a very chic boudoir designed by someone who has spent serious time in Kyoto.

Why It Matters
The only hotel in Paris's Little Tokyo district, designed by one of the city's most in-demand decorators. The Franco-Japanese fusion goes well beyond surface-level aesthetics — the feng shui-informed room layouts, Lymfea's kobido treatments, a sake bar curated by The Social Food, and a private-hire saltwater pool are all genuinely committed to the concept.
Hotel Hana opened in February 2024 in a restored Haussmannian building in Paris's 2nd arrondissement, right between the Opéra Garnier and the Palais Brongniart. Interior designer Laura Gonzalez and art director Olivier Leone have layered Belle Époque maximalism against Japanese wabi-sabi restraint across 26 rooms — iroko wood panels, straw-lined walls, Pierre Frey rugs, terracotta marble bathrooms — and the effect is maximalist in the best possible sense. The restaurant Hanabi, a subterranean saltwater pool bookable by the hour, and kobido facial treatments from Parisian wellness brand Lymfea make this a genuinely full-stay destination rather than just a place to sleep.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel's floral arrangements are designed in ikebana style — the Japanese art of flower arranging. The name 'Hana' itself means 'flower' in Japanese, and the arrangements are a living, rotating part of the hotel's design.
The hotel sits at the edge of Paris's Little Tokyo on Rue Sainte-Anne. Higuma gyoza, Michi sushi counter, Juji-Ya bento shop — it's all within a 5-minute stroll. The concierge can point you in the right direction.
The subterranean heated saltwater pool with counter-current machine can be reserved by the hour for a completely private swim. One of the few options of its kind in central Paris.
