Why It Matters
One of Belgium's only NUXE Spa-affiliated properties, set directly on a lake with a national nature park on the doorstep. The combination of on-site stables (you can bring your own horses), lake swimming, spa, and a Mediterranean restaurant in a country better known for beer and waffles makes it genuinely distinctive.
Hôtel des Bains & Wellness is a 4-star, adults-only boutique hotel sitting directly on the south shore of Lake Robertville, at the foot of the Hautes Fagnes Nature Park. Twelve uniquely decorated rooms — plus a standalone lakeside villa — keep things intimate rather than corporate. The 450 sqm spa anchors the whole experience: heated indoor pool, Nordic sauna, Moorish hammam, outdoor infinity jacuzzi, and four treatment cabins using NUXE (and reportedly transitioning to Phytomer) protocols.

Comfortable and individually decorated but not facing the lake — honest trade-off for the lower rate. A standalone single-storey villa with a private garden facing the lake. Two bedrooms (King Size beds), a full living room, and a fully fitted kitchen make this the most independent option on the property. Terrace with outdoor garden furniture, large Italian shower, separate WC, flat-screen TV, and free WiFi. Sleeps up to 4. Guests get access to the NUXE Spa and can arrange breakfast at the main hotel.

Fishing on and around Lake Robertville is a popular local activity.
The Hautes Fagnes–Eifel Nature Park is directly accessible from the hotel. Trails range from flat lakeside walks to longer moorland routes through one of Belgium's most protected natural landscapes.
The hotel maintains on-site stables with a 3-hectare paddock and a 1km horse track. Guests can bring their own horses and arrange rides through the surrounding Hautes Fagnes park. Riding equipment and stable facilities are available.
Lake Robertville (62 hectares) is directly accessible from the hotel grounds. Activities including kayaking, boating, and sailing are available on the lake in season.
The region around Robertville and the Vennbahn (a converted railway cycle route) offers excellent mountain biking and road cycling. Bicycle parking on site.
The Ovifat ski slopes are a short drive from the hotel, offering skiing and snowboarding in winter.
