Granville House
Americana-meets-mid-century eclectic. Danish modern furniture alongside antique prints, vintage sports pennants, a working jukebox, hundreds of vinyl albums, and autograph collections on the walls. Cozy and personal, not precious or fussy.
Ask Terry to let you browse the vinyl collection before settling on what to play in your room — it's genuinely vast.
Why It Matters
Michelin Key 2025 award-winner. Owned by two USHG (Danny Meyer) alums — Terri was lead Maître D' at Gramercy Tavern for over a decade; Terry was Managing Partner at Union Square Cafe, Maialino, Marta, and Daily Provisions for 22 years. The house dates to 1825 and is named for the house in Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life. Part of Granville House's proceeds go to Berkshire-area special needs organizations.
A 200-year-old Federal-style house in Great Barrington's Van Deusenville hamlet, run by Terry and Terri Coughlin — two career veterans of Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group who spent their honeymoon here and spent 20 years working toward owning this exact B&B. Five rooms, five en-suite bathrooms, one killer made-to-order breakfast. Town & Country called it like visiting your coolest friend's country home, and it earned a 2025 Michelin Key — the only one-Key property in the Berkshires alongside Canyon Ranch and Tourists.

On Property
How you'll actually spend your days.
Adirondack chairs around a backyard firepit, with views of Monument Mountain. Roast marshmallows or just sit under the stars. Seasonal (warmer months).
A picnic table on the grounds near the river — good for alfresco meals or an afternoon of doing absolutely nothing.
A front wraparound porch with rocking chairs and views of the property and Monument Mountain. A genuinely pleasant way to spend a slow afternoon, especially in summer and fall.
A full billiards table in the parlor, available to all guests throughout their stay.
A well-stocked library with books, plus a wide-ranging selection of board games and puzzles available in the common areas.
Front sitting room with a fireplace — the ideal spot to curl up with a glass of wine on a cold Berkshires evening. Three fireplaces total in the property.
Terry's vinyl collection spans hundreds of albums. Guests are invited to browse and borrow records to play on the Crosley record player in their room, or enjoy them in the music room downstairs. There's also a working vintage jukebox in the sitting area.
