Grand Hôtel Henri
French bourgeois charm meets Provençal warmth. Art Deco bones, antique furnishings, a jazzy bar, and bistronomic cooking. Feels like staying at a well-heeled local family's grand house — because, essentially, you are.
Book Le Petit Henri well in advance, especially in summer — it regularly turns away walk-ins
Why It Matters
One of the most respected independent hotel-restaurants in the Vaucluse, with a Michelin-recognised kitchen and a prime position in a town world-famous for its Sunday antique market. Third-generation family ownership and exceptional staff reviews set it apart from the region's more impersonal properties.
Grand Hôtel Henri is a 4-star boutique hotel-restaurant in the antique-dealer capital of Provence, occupying a building with roots dating to the late 18th century. Henri Toppin bought it in 1969, made it the place to be in the region, and today his grandson Julien runs it alongside wife Manon and partner Marco De Almeida — third-generation ownership that shows in the personal service. The 17 rooms are individually decorated in classic French style: soft-painted walls with mouldings, silky carpets, antique furniture, and Annick Goutal toiletries. The on-site restaurant Le Petit Henri holds a Michelin Assiette and a Gault & Millau toque, with a terrace fountain that makes summer dinners genuinely special. No pool, but free parking in the centre of a popular Provençal town is genuinely rare.
