Insider Tip
1/5

Book a Junior Suite or higher to get a real sense of space — and ask for a Palais Royal-facing view.

Why It Matters

The only 5-star hotel directly overlooking the Palais Royal gardens, steps from the Louvre. Pierre-Yves Rochon designed the interiors. The Rooftop Suite on the 7th floor has a private elevator and a terrace with simultaneous views of the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Sacré-Cœur, and the Palais Royal. The Place de Valois courtyard outside is also a filming location for the Netflix series Emily in Paris.

Set in an 18th-century building on the quiet Place de Valois, the Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal delivers exactly what its name promises. The Louvre is 200 meters away. The Palais Royal gardens are right outside. And it's the only 5-star hotel with this particular address. Interiors by Pierre-Yves Rochon — who also did Four Seasons George V and Shangri-La Paris — bring real quality: vivid green accents, fresh plants, light colors that bring the gardens indoors. But be warned: entry-level Superior rooms come in at just 205 sq ft, which is genuinely compact for the price point.
