Why It Matters
One of Nice's oldest continuously operating hotels, dating to the 1870s. Holds the GOLD label from the Nice Hôtel Historique program, recognizing architectural and historic significance. Completely gutted and renovated in 2024 with a Region Sud grant, keeping original architectural details intact. The Suite Origine is the one that inspired the whole renovation concept.
Four-generation family-run 4-star boutique hotel in Nice's Quartier des Musiciens, completely renovated and reopened in June 2024. The building dates from the 1870s and carries a GOLD label from Nice Hôtel Historique — Belle Époque moldings on the facade, a slate dome, and a pewter spire make it one of the most architecturally distinctive hotels in the city. Inside, the rooms work in Art Deco and Art Nouveau, with gold accents, chocolate browns, olive greens, and rounded living rooms that lean retro-cinema glamorous. There's no spa or pool on-site, but guests get full access to the Splendid Hotel & Spa immediately next door — the two are under the same family ownership.

Standard Room – Double / Twin
The entry-level room at 18m², which is compact but well thought out. Art Deco decor with clean lines inspired by the Quartier des Musiciens. Most units come with a shower; one room has a bathtub instead. A handful offer a small balcony of roughly 2m². All are accessible to guests with reduced mobility (PMR standard). Suite Origine
The suite that inspired the entire renovation concept. 35m² with a rounded living room with a finely crafted ceiling, a charming period dressing table boudoir (described by the hotel as a character in its own right), and an 11m² furnished terrace with chairs, tables, and sun loungers — a rare outdoor space for a city-center hotel. The bathroom has a double sink, shower, and bathtub. Faces the courtyard so it sleeps quietly. This is the most characterful room in the building.

The largest room in the hotel at 57m². Four French windows flood the living room and bedroom with light, and the courtyard-facing position keeps it genuinely quiet. The sleeping area is separated from the rounded salon by an original wooden glass roof — an architectural detail worth seeing. Velvet, satin, cotton, and touches of olive wood on the headboard and desk. The bathroom alone is 10.5m²: double rain shower, bathtub with clean lines, double sink. This is the room to book if you want the full Gounod experience.

The beach on the Promenade des Anglais is approximately 400m from the hotel — a short 5-minute walk. No private beach, but Nice's public beaches and beach clubs are easily accessed.
The hotel's location is ideal for walking. Promenade des Anglais is 400m (roughly 5 minutes). The Old Town and Port are 15–20 minutes on foot. Musée Masséna is 600m. Marc Chagall National Museum is about 25 minutes' walk.
