Gild Hall
Midcentury boutique — warm leathers, mahogany, brass finishes, and cozy library energy in the heart of FiDi

Why It Matters
One of a handful of boutique options in the Financial District, Gild Hall fills the gap between bland business hotels and the Beekman's full-luxury price tag. Jim Walrod's design gives it a distinct personality, and the Felice/La Soffitta dining setup is genuinely good — drawing neighborhood regulars, not just hotel guests.
Gild Hall is a 130-room boutique Thompson Hotel in NYC's Financial District, sitting on historic Gold Street just steps from Wall Street. The design — courtesy of the late Jim Walrod — leans hard into midcentury Americana: oversize tufted leather headboards, custom wood furniture, brass details, and a warm palette that feels more gentleman's club than corporate crash pad. It's intimate by New York standards, and the Italian restaurant and wine bar downstairs draw a loyal neighborhood crowd, not just hotel guests.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel provides in-house bicycles for guests to explore the neighborhood — included as part of the mandatory destination fee. FiDi and the waterfront paths make this a practical perk.
La Soffitta stocks over 100 Italian wines and can arrange curated wine tastings in the lounge. The intimate upstairs setting with custom wine-shelf walls makes for a good standalone evening activity.
Discounts to local attractions are bundled into the destination fee. The 9/11 Memorial & Museum, One World Observatory, and Seaport venues are all within walking distance.
Private event spaces available within Felice and La Soffitta, plus dedicated meetings and weddings/celebrations infrastructure listed on the Hyatt site.
Unlimited access to thousands of digital newspapers and magazines via PressReader, included in the destination fee.
