Gild Hall is a 130-room boutique Thompson Hotel in NYC's Financial District, sitting on historic Gold Street just steps from Wall Street. The design — courtesy of the late Jim Walrod — leans hard into midcentury Americana: oversize tufted leather headboards, custom wood furniture, brass details, and a warm palette that feels more gentleman's club than corporate crash pad. It's intimate by New York standards, and the Italian restaurant and wine bar downstairs draw a loyal neighborhood crowd, not just hotel guests.

The entry-level room, and honestly decent for New York. A king bed with Walrod's custom leather headboard, Sferra linens, a 55-inch TV, and a spa-like bathroom. It's compact — 26 sqm is compact — but everything in it is well-chosen.

A step up from the standard with neighborhood views. Same midcentury vibe — king bed, leather headboard, stately black desk — but the bathroom adds tiled walls in cool colors with marble flooring and glass shelves.

The sweet spot in the room lineup. Extra floor area plus 12-foot ceilings that make the space feel significantly larger than the numbers suggest. Frosted glass double doors lead to a marble-floor bathroom. The high ceilings alone are worth requesting this category.
