Geejam
Music-obsessed jungle chic. Dark wood cabins with crisp white interiors. Laid-back but considered — the kind of place where the Bushbar plays actual reggae instead of yacht-rock covers, co-owner Steve Beaver gives personal studio tours, and nobody is rushing you to do anything.
Co-owner Steve Beaver is often on property and gives personal studio tours — guest reviews consistently flag this as a highlight
Why It Matters
One of Jamaica's most credible luxury hotels — not because of a big-brand renovation, but because it genuinely grew out of music culture. The recording studio is still working. The celebrity clientele is real. And Frenchman's Cove, consistently ranked among the world's best beaches, is a five-minute drive away (guests get free entry).
Geejam started life as a professional recording studio on the San San Estate in northeast Jamaica — Björk, Gorillaz, Drake, and Rihanna have all laid tracks here. Music industry veterans Jon Baker and Steve Beaver built it out into a boutique hotel, and the music DNA never left. The whole property sits on six acres of tropical rainforest running from the Blue Mountains foothills to a private Caribbean cove, and every room is named after a Jamaican music genre.
