Ask specifically for a Deluxe Gallery With Balcony or Grand Gallery Room for direct views down into the galleria — the courtyard and street-view rooms are fine but miss the point

Why It Matters

The location alone is almost absurdly good — you're literally sleeping above the Prada flagship store, with balcony views down into the 19th-century glass-domed galleria. But the art program is equally serious: over 100 artists contributed site-specific works spread across five floors, including the restaurant. A bronze cast of Rodin's Thinker greets you in the lobby.

Galleria Vik Milano lives inside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II — one of Italy's oldest shopping arcades, right between the Duomo and La Scala. Alex and Carrie Vik, the South American hoteliers behind the Vik Retreats brand, took over the former Townhouse Galleria and turned it into something far more personal: 89 rooms where every surface, every bathroom, every corridor is a site-specific art installation by Italian, Uruguayan, and international artists. It functions simultaneously as a luxury hotel and a private museum.
