Why It Matters
Regent Cocktail Club in the basement was named one of the Top Ten Hotel Bars in the World at Tales of the Cocktail 2013. Dolce Italian won Bravo TV's Best New Restaurant in 2015. The rooftop infinity pool framed in black marble is genuinely impressive. And the Kaskades Suites next door offer quieter, larger rooms with full access to all Gale amenities.
Originally built in 1941 and designed by Tropical Art Deco architect L. Murray Dixon, the Gale South Beach is an 87-room boutique hotel on Collins Avenue that was masterfully restored in 2012. The building wears its history proudly — reclaimed limestone, period décor, and vintage black-and-white photographs throughout — while the rooms have been brought firmly into the present. One block from the beach, walking distance to Lincoln Road, and with one of the more serious cocktail bars in South Beach in its basement.

Signature
The entry-level room at the Gale, and honestly a solid one. Expect vintage black-and-white photographs on the walls, marble bathrooms with rainfall showers, a well-stocked minibar, and 400-thread count sheets. A 55-inch flat-screen TV and iPod docking station round it out. Rooms are on the compact side — classic South Beach boutique scale — but well-designed.
Signature Double
Same stylish package as the Signature but configured for two beds — good for friends traveling together or families who want separate sleeping surfaces. Same marble bath, rainfall shower, and in-room amenities throughout.

The upgrade worth asking about. Same interior DNA as the Signature rooms, but adds a private furnished terrace — a genuinely rare commodity in South Beach at this price point. Perfect for morning coffee or an early cocktail before heading downstairs.
