Freycinet Lodge
Eco-lodge meets contemporary Tasmanian wilderness. Grounded elegance rather than flashy luxury — timber, stone, natural light, and native bush everywhere you look.
Book The Bay Restaurant for dinner well ahead of arrival — it fills fast, especially in high season
Why It Matters
The only accommodation and dining inside Freycinet National Park. Guests wake up steps from Richardsons Beach with wallabies outside and direct access to the Wineglass Bay track. The main lodge building with its giant stone fireplace is genuinely memorable.
Freycinet Lodge sits entirely inside Freycinet National Park on Tasmania's east coast — the only accommodation within the park itself. Think luxury rethink of a camp cabin: high-ceilinged timber structures connected by raised boardwalks through she-oak forest, with a main lodge anchored by a giant stone fireplace. Rooms range from entry-level bushland cabins to full Coastal Pavilions with outdoor bathtubs and private decks facing the coastline. Three restaurants and a bar round it out, making it a fully self-contained base for one of Australia's most remote and spectacular national parks.
