Ask for a bay-facing room with a view toward Alcatraz — the Golden Gate view is stunning but the Alcatraz/bay angle is arguably more dramatic at night

Why It Matters

Highest guest rooms of any hotel in San Francisco — every room has a panoramic view of the bay or city. Earned two Michelin Keys for two consecutive years (2024 and 2025). Landmark architecture by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill with glass skybridges on most floors.

San Francisco's second Four Seasons sits on floors 38 to 48 of the 48-story 345 California Center tower — which means every single one of its 155 rooms has a view. Not a partial view, not a parking-lot view. The Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay Bridge, Alcatraz, the Transamerica Pyramid: it's all there framed by floor-to-ceiling glass. The building's Skidmore, Owings and Merrill architecture, with twin crowns angled at 45 degrees connected by glass skybridges, makes even the elevator lobbies worth a pause. Opened under the Four Seasons brand in 2020 after Westbrook Partners renovated the property, it's earned two Michelin Keys in both 2024 and 2025. No pool, no dedicated spa — but the views are the amenity.
