Hampshire
English country estate meets global luxury brand. Grand without being stiff. Heritage rooms with countryside views, horses on the grounds, and a spa running Dr. Barbara Sturm facials. The estate genuinely feels like countryside rather than a resort dropped into it.

Why It Matters
Rare thing: a Four Seasons that actually delivers on the English country house promise. The scale of activities is exceptional — clay pigeon shooting, falconry, fly fishing, canal boat hire, horse riding — all on one 500-acre estate. Consistently rated among the top family hotels in England, and the Conde Nast Traveler Gold List in 2014 confirmed it's not just for families.
A restored 18th-century Georgian manor sitting on 500 acres of Hampshire countryside, about 40 minutes from central London and 35 from Heathrow. Four Seasons took the English country house concept and gave it the full brand treatment — claw-foot marble baths, colorful period prints, a proper equestrian centre — without sanding off the charm. It's a big hotel (130+ rooms, 21 room types, seven dining outlets), which means plenty of choice but also plenty of walking if you end up in the wrong wing.
