Why It Matters

First Four Seasons in Cartagena, and the brand's third in Colombia. The restoration of genuinely historic buildings — the 16th-century San Francisco Temple, the 1920s Club Cartagena, and five others — is rare for a new luxury hotel. Eight dining venues with Major Food Group involvement, two rooftop pools, the UMARI Spa in a former cloister, and relatively accessible rates by Four Seasons standards (from around $525/night).

Seven restored heritage buildings in the heart of Getsemaní, stitched together by tropical courtyard gardens. Opened April 2, 2026, this is the first Four Seasons in Cartagena — and it is unlike anything else in the city. The 16th-century San Francisco Temple and a 1920s beaux-arts social club now house 131 rooms and eight bars and restaurants. Interior design by the late François Catroux makes even the smallest details feel deliberate, from sculptural plaster reliefs to custom Colombian furniture by Poli Mallarino.
