Why It Matters
One of the oldest continuously operating resort properties in Sonoma Wine Country, with 67+ years of history. The resort pairs authentic mid-century architecture with a serious club-and-spa complex, the lively Lazeaway Club restaurant, and Vintage Space — a retro-futuristic music lounge that has been running since Sputnik launched. The saltwater main pool is a bona fide scene.
The Flamingo has been a Santa Rosa landmark since 1957, designed by architect Homer A. Rissman and originally built to attract Hollywood celebrity clientele — Jayne Mansfield famously lounged at the central pool in the 1960s. A 50-foot tower topped with a revolving pink flamingo sign is still visible from Highway 12. The property underwent a complete renovation in 2021 and now operates as part of Hilton's Tapestry Collection on a lush 10-acre campus with 170 rooms, full-service spa, a retro-futuristic nightlife lounge, and a genuinely impressive wellness facility.
